Horse riding holidays are for up to six riders and are tailor made to your requirements and abilities. Experienced riders can ride across wild countryside with stunning views, river crossings, pine forests and challenging landscapes. For the less experienced, there are gentler rides through the pine forests, almond and olive groves over-looking the Castril valley.
Our horses are mainly Andalucian, renowned for their surefooted confidence. We also have some Spanish cross-breeds. The horses range from four to 19 years old, and 14 -17/2 hands, and carry riders up to 16 ½ stone. In the morning, riders help to brush and tack up their mount, and wash down the horses at the end of the day.
Please come with riders of equal ability for your holiday, so we can tailor the days to suit your combined skills. We will try to challenge you always and improve you're riding abilities. While we specialise in adventure riding holidays for the experienced rider, we can also cater for the novice, with gentler hacks culminating in a few days of cross country riding.
A day is set aside for rest and recuperation. Alternately you may like to take part in any one alternative activity available, from , mountain biking, canoeing, walking, bird watching or just relax by the pool and enjoy a barbecue a glass or two of locally produced vino and a swim in the private pool.
SAFETY
We recommend you take out holiday insurance (covering supervised hacking) and bring your own safety helmet. Our guides carry a first aid kit on all rides and have a basic first aid training. A safety van is always within range, and we have a mobile always with us when we are out.
WHAT YOU NEED
You will need jodhpurs and boots for your holiday, sun cream and insect repellent, even in winter. You can choose to ride English or Spanish style, although you will quickly find the Spanish Vaquera saddle more comfortable for a long day’s ride.
